Help - Company Search Results

This page displays the list of companies that have matched the name (and keywords) that you have entered. To go on to order a report or document, click on the company name and you will be taken to the Report Selection ordering page.

To help you to identify the company you want, the company address is displayed. For limited companies and Plc's, this will be the registered office address, which is often not the same as the address from which the business operates - so check carefully. The incorporation date and status (current or dissolved, for example) are also shown for these companies.

Why are there so many matches?

If you have entered a partial company name, and the words you have typed are used a lot by different companies, you may receive a very large number of matches. To overcome this, be more specific about the name you want.

The company I want isn't there

This should never be the case for limited companies or Plc's as we hold the full Companies House index that is, updated daily. If the company you want is registered at Companies House and you cannot locate them, check the spelling. If that does not help, you may benefit from contacting the company yourself and asking for their Companies House registration number that all limited companies and Plc's be assigned when they are incorporated. You can enter this directly in the search page.

For partnerships and sole traders it can be a little bit trickier. This type of business often uses a trading name that may not be reflected on any official record and therefore may not have come to our attention. If this is the case, we will not be able to offer a report and would recommend that you deal with such businesses carefully. They will often be newly established enterprises and you may wish to consider seeking other ways to confirm their financial status. Ask for trade references, for example.
